Georgia's Story

Writer: Breastfeeding JournalBreastfeeding Journal

I had my little boy in 2022 in the height of summer in the 40 degree weather we had that year, it put me off trying to breastfeed because I'd feel so bad holding him so close in the heat, but he took to it like a duck to water and I loved the bonding experience of it! I had a big oversupply so started using a hakka to catch let down for my partner to feed to him, and would also pump once a day to build a back supply for the freezer. In the end we had to get a second hand under counter freezer which was full of breast milk within a month. I then contacted heart milk bank and started donating my breastmilk to premature and poorly babies, I did this up until the end of my breastfeeding journey at 9 months when I had to return to work, and we needed my partner to be able to comfort and get baby to sleep (this was not a thing when I was breastfeeding, how relatable 😭🤣) I wouldn't change my experience for the world and I'm looking forward to the journey with baby 2 due next may 🌻
